The Bug and Ghost Dubs rework material from Sub Zero into four heavyweight remixes that push Kevin Richard Martin’s bleak ambient dub experiments deeper into soundsystem territory. Following their collaborative IMPLOSION project for PRESSURE, Martin and Michael Fiedler trade versions that balance hypnotic atmospherics with punishing low-end force. Ghost Dubs stretches ‘When I’m Gone’ into a slow-motion haze of submerged rhythms and cavernous bass, while The Bug twists ‘Too Human’ into narcotic instrumental hip-hop with echoes of Rhythm & Sound and early Mobb Deep.
