Product Information Subwassertang moss, or the freshwater seaweed (Lomariopsis cf. lineata), is an uncommon fern gametophyte that, until a few years ago, was considered to be a liverwort or moss. This is a great low-tech plant to keep in any freshwater aquarium due to its low lighting requirements, similar to most mosses. Subwassertang moss is a slow-growing plant that is capable of growing in somewhat cold water tanks as well as tropical tanks. It grows into bushy heaps that are always a favourite hiding place for shrimp and fish fry. Main Benefits: Helps convert toxins in the water and heavy metals into safe organics Promotes oxygen rich water Provides hiding places for baby shrimp and fish Creates a peaceful grazing environment for shrimp Reduces stress for fish and shrimp by providing hiding places and shelter More Information: Subwassertang moss doesn't like to root to anything besides sponge. We usually let it float through the tank until it finds a resting area. After a couple of weeks, it will begin forming bush like growths. Once these subwassertang bushes start to form, the plant really begins to stand out in an aquarium. Please check out our beginner Java Moss and unique floating Riccia!
