This unique drying beans looks somewhat like a corn kernel, and is an excellent candidate for the hearty winter dish, succotash. Plants are densely leaved with my tallest plants re aching about 6.5 feet; pods are large and need a few weeks on the plant to fully dry. This bean can also be grown as part of a Three Sisters garden. I was unable to find any primary sources detailing the origin of this bean. It is typically described as originating with the Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island; the word "succotash" is derived from the Narragansett word sahquttahhash. Grown organically with love and tenderness in the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada, in the summer of 2023. Germination tested. Minimum 30 beans. Show more
