The classic line-up of Les Claypool (bass/vocals), Larry LaLonde (guitar), and Tim "Herb" Alexander (drums) was only together for a mere few months when these shows were recorded at California's Berkeley Square (in February and March of '89). Almost every song would be re-recorded in the studio on future releases, but several of the original live versions on SUCK ON THIS remain the definitive ones--such as the kooky narrative "Tommy the Cat" and the snide "The Heckler."
