This wine is screaming with red cherry, strawberry, raspberry but with the savoury notes from Pinot Noir coming through on the finish. It’s frothy but precise, rich but fresh, a re al triumph from Sugrue. In 2018 Sugrue did a risky green harvest but there is no doubt it has paid off and allowed the vines to put all their energy into produce the quality of fruit needed to make a wine of this calibre. It isn’t often that you get to taste cellar-aged sparkling rosé, especially in England and this wine makes us beg the question why?! Raise a toast with this wine, and if you need a snack, I'd go for a little hunk of Pecorino. Show more
