The Sullivan Stencil Earrings were inspired by decorative motifs in the Schiller Theatre Building, designed by the firm Adler & Sullivan. At the time of its construction, it was am ong the tallest buildings in Chicago. Originally funded by German investors, it was projected to be used for German-language operas and cultural events.
