DESCRIPTION Named after the Japanese term “Sumi-e”. “Sumi” means “black ink” and “e” means “painting”, an art form in which subjects are painted with black ink in all possible grad ations, achievable by dissolving ink in water. Real sumi-e conveys a simplicity and spontaneity that strikes the viewer’s sensibility. We think (hope!) that we achieved this here with our original black colorway.
