Erica Bentley is an aspiring novelist fresh out of prison for shoplifting. She requests a summer work placement washing dishes at an Inn in the beautiful cottage town of Pinetree Lake. Her choice of locale is because prominent literary agent Michael Seeder has rented a house there for a month of relaxation and manuscript reading. Erica convinces her parole officer to arrange an internship with Michael, planning to sneak her unpublished masterpiece into his reading pile.
