Size - 33" x 40" This quilt is made with cotton/linen that has been hand dyed with cutch, avocado, osage orange, pomegranate, oak gall and indigo. The backside of the quilt is solid navy blue cotton/linen. The front and back were machine pieced, meaning the patchwork is machine sewn. The quilting, meaning the stitches running throughout, is done by hand along the patchwork seams with quilting thread. Hand quilting is a very laborious and time consuming process but the impact of the hand stitches cannot be mimicked with a machine. The quilt binding is made with stripes from colors used on the quilt and is also hand sewn. This lightweight quilt has 100% cotton batting. It is best suited for a wall hanging or crib quilt.
