This crazy looking guy is a Sun Bear, no Summer Bear series would be complete without one. He looks like he has evolved with a tongue like that just for liking ice-blocks. The technique uses watercolours in a manner similar to traditional oil painting glazes; to create a richness and depth to the colour and textures evident with the animal. The pops of colour in cushion and ice-block have been created using gouache, the density of the colour contrasting wonderfully against the panda’s dark fur. It has then been professionally printed using archival inks on Hahnemuhle William Turner 310gms cotton rag paper. This particular paper is just gorgeous, it has the appearance of water-colour paper and has been specifically created for longevity when used with pigmented inks. It is a limited edition fine art giclee print.It would suit a variety of styles of living spaces including modern minimalist interiors. A trio of Summer Bears would also look just delightful in a child’s bedroom. The print comes unframed but this means that you can add your own touch to suit your decor.
