Sun Emperors by Ex Nihilo is a warm, woody amber fragrance with saffron, jasmine, tobacco, patchouli, and vanilla. Originally created as a Doha exclusive, it is currently available through Printemps. Sun Emperors opens with saffron before jasmine and tobacco bring a richer, slightly smoky quality to the fragrance. The tobacco is noticeable but never takes over. Instead, it works alongside patchouli and Akigalawood, giving the fragrance warmth and depth. Benzoin and vanilla soften the woods and patchouli, adding a smooth sweetness that stays balanced rather than turning gourmand. There is a lot going on here, but Sun Emperors wears surprisingly easily. It's warm, woody, slightly spicy, and just sweet enough, with the saffron and patchouli remaining present throughout.
