A sun face carved into solid Raintree, its rays fanning out to the edge of the seat in deep relief, picked out in yellow, orange and gold paint. The face at the centre is calm, eye s half-closed. Made in northern Thailand, where relief carving of this kind has been a village workshop trade for generations.Heavy in the hand and low to the ground.
