Sowing Seeds Sow the seed thinly into moist, warm, weed-free soil or compost in pots or tubs, 13 mm (1/2") deep. Germination 7-21 days. As the seedlings grow, thin in stages to ach ieve a final spacing of 40 cm (16") or one per container.
