Sunrise was created during my first road trip after untethering from Arizona, painted in the quiet stillness of Quartzite as the morning light broke over the desert. With no light pollution, the night sky was stunning, and by 5:30 am, I was setting up my paints under a shady spot, guided by intuition rather than my usual routine. I hand-laid the letters S-U-N-R-I-S-E and poured vibrant oranges, purples, and splashes of color that danced across the canvas like morning confetti.
