It’s not a secret that Africa provides some incredible sunsets, and when the timing is right with the perfect amount of cloud coverage, the sky is painted in shades of pink and ora nge. However, these magical sunset usually don’t coincide with the times when you’re with wildlife and have the opportunity to capture them together. That’s why I was beyond excited when I came across this majestic Martial Eagle, perched on a perfect dead branch, on this afternoon with a magical sunset. I positioned myself with the best part of the sunset behind the eagle and started snapping away, when I noticed the signs of a bird that’s about to take flight. My heart stopped. I double checked my settings and composition, and concentrated. I held my breath as the Martial Eagle took off and I pressed the shutter.
