Sunshine is a classic jeans pattern with all the details you’d expect from a favourite pair of ready-to-wear denim, with two different leg shapes to choose from. Make Version A with a tapered leg for a neat, timeless silhouette, or Version B with a relaxed balloon leg for a more contemporary shape. Both versions feature Italian front pockets, a coin pocket, back patch pockets, a traditional fly front and a waistband with belt loops. Add optional rivets and contrast topstitching for an authentic jeans finish. It’s a brilliant pattern for getting to grips with traditional jeans-making techniques and creating a pair you’ll want to wear again and again. Important to Know: I AM Patterns are designed to be traced rather than cut directly from the pattern sheet. The pattern pieces overlap, so you’ll need to trace your chosen size onto paper before cutting your fabric. This keeps all the sizes intact, making it easy to sew another size or make alterations in the future. You can use tracing paper, baking parchment or other lightweight paper, or take a look at our spot and cross pattern paper. Suggested Fabrics: For the main garment, choose a medium- to heavyweight non-stretch woven fabric such as denim, cotton twill, corduroy, cotton velvet, linen, chino or gabardine. For the pocket linings, use a lighter woven fabric such as cotton poplin, lawn or batiste.
