Super Normal Tools is inspired by the bold energy of pop art by taking the familiar and turnning it on its head. By amplifying their presence in a pop art aesthetic, we invite viewers to re-examine their relationship with the mundane, and perhaps find a bit of humour, beauty, or nostalgia in the things they once overlooked. A tongue-in-cheek nod to consumer culture and the aesthetics of the everyday, this is art that doesn’t shout but winks. A collaboration with ART:DIS Studio and Singaporean artist Christian Tan, whose paintings spotlight the cleaning tools from his daily work.
