This is a beautiful example of Turkish craftsmanship, dating back hundreds of years. This super-soft patterned towel is called a peshtemal - a towel traditionally used in the hamma m baths. These are the perfect holiday item - fast drying, ultra absorbent and lightweight, these towels back easily into a suitcase and are much more hygienic than traditional tick towels. Because of its size, this one is ideal for the beach. It also looks wonderful in a bathroom - it will try much faster on the towel rail than traditional towels, as well as bringing a dose of pattern and colour. It combined two wonderful patterns and has a row of lovely hand-tied tassels at either end.
