Variable Character Filter and Tonal Shaping At the heart of the Redshift 6’s sound design capabilities is its four-pole state-variable analogue filter, digitally controlled to emulate the response of classic vintage filters while extending beyond their traditional limitations. The filter allows seamless transition between five distinct character profiles—Liquid, Crisp, Fat, Sour, and Mean—each with unique resonance, distortion, and envelope response. Liquid offers a smooth, spacey resonance with rich harmonic content. Crisp delivers a bright, cutting filter response ideal for leads and percussive sounds. Fat provides a thick, ladder-style filtering characteristic with deep bass emphasis. Sour is designed for acid-like squelch and resonance.
