What are backflow cones? Backflow incense cones differ from the "normal" cones because of the opening in the middle. Through this opening in the cone, the smoke that is released flows down instead of up. This way you achieve the special ‘waterfall’ effect. The smoke flows down through the opening in the cone because there is cooler air in the opening of the cone. Cooler air always makes smoke flow down.
