Cooperative Craft. Classic Colombian Profile.Supernatural is a washed Colombian medium roast: caramel and milk chocolate through the body, a lift of citrus brightness, and a sweet clean finish. If someone asked me what Colombian coffee is supposed to taste like, I'd hand them this.Who grew itIt comes from the Cooperativa de Caficultores de Anserma, founded in 1967 so small producers could share processing infrastructure they'd never afford alone. That's what a co-op does: pools the washing stations, the drying beds, and the quality control across dozens of small farms. You lose the single-farm traceability, and in exchange a lot of smallholders get access to a quality floor and a fairer price than they'd get selling on their own.Solo Sabado or Supernatural? We carry both Superlost Colombians and they do different jobs. Solo Sabado is single-farm and rotates, so the cup changes with each lot. Supernatural is the co-op blend and stays consistent, which makes it the better everyday bag and the safer first order. Get Solo Sabado when you want to meet a specific farm, get this when you want good coffee every morning without thinking about it.BrewingIt's forgiving, which is the nicest thing you can say about a daily coffee. Drip, pour-over, and AeroPress all work. For pour-over, grind medium-coarse and go 1:16, about 20g coffee to 320g water. It pulls decently as espresso at a medium dose if you want the chocolate side pushed forward.Details Origin: Anserma, Colombia (Cooperativa de Caficultores de Anserma, est. 1967) Process: washed Roast: medium Bean: Arabica Notes: caramel, milk chocolate, citrus brightness, sweet clean finish Formats: whole bean or drip grind, in 1/2lb, 1lb, 2lb, 5lb, or six 1/2lb bags Roasted by: Craig Deahl, Superlost Coffee Whole bean if you own a grinder, and the six-bag format over the 5lb if you're buying deep, since each bag stays sealed until you get to it.
