Aluminum support tube, located in the bilge just ahead of the rudder assembly. The support tube attaches the steering cable, and is held by the "clamp-block" the tube rarely fails, however when the large nut that attaches the steering cable to the tube is seized, aggressive means to remove the cable from the tube often render it usless & must then be replaced.
