The Curved Handle suits posterior and lateral donor sites — the angled profile keeps the wrist in a neutral position during ramus or retromolar harvesting. The Straight Handle is preferred for anterior sites and cases where direct, in-line access to the cortical surface is easier to maintain. 2 Confirm the tip is locked before applying the scraper. Rotate the tip to the Lock position and confirm it is fully seated in the handle before engaging the cortical surface. A loose tip shifts under scraping pressure, reducing control and chip consistency. The Lock/Open markings on the tip make this check fast at the surgical tray. 3 Harvest close to the defect where access allows. Intraoral donor sites adjacent to the recipient site — retromolar area, ramus, or local cortical surfaces — minimise operative time and eliminate the need for a separate donor-site incision. Harvesting close to the defect also reduces the time bone chips are outside the body, helping preserve cell vitality. 4 Collect the graft with coagulated blood — place promptly.
