Our precision ECU tuning unlocks the hidden potential that European engineered into this powerplant, delivering breathtaking power gains while maintaining the reliability and refinement you expect from your European. Tuning can be done by sending your ECU in, or we ship a flashing tool which must be returned after the tune is complete. EVERY TUNE INCLUDES: Reprogrammed torque management parameters Optimized boost pressure mapping for maximum power delivery Reprogrammed variable valve timing control for enhanced drivability Smoother engine operation throughout the RPM range Reprogrammed throttle response for both Comfort and Sport modes Raised RPM limiter (optional) Top speed limiter removal (optional) Variable RPM limit based on engine temperature warm-up (optional) Cold start modification (optional) Octane-specific ignition timing optimization (91, 93, E85 blends) TUNING METHODS: OBD Tune OBD tunes allow customers to simply plug and upgrade their ECU. We will ship you an ECM Tuner cable and email you detailed instructions on how to complete the installation yourself. Bench Flash Requires ECU to be mailed in. This upgrade requires you to send us your ECU for professional re-programming in our facility. TALK TO A SPECIALIST: Get in contact with an ECM Tuner specialist to determine which tuning method is best for your vehicle and learn more about the installation process. The European High-Performance Engine: A Tuner's Dream The High-Performance Engine found in the Surcharge represents one of European's most tunable powerplants ever produced. With its robust construction and advanced engineering, this engine responds exceptionally well to ECU tuning modifications. Stage 1 Tune: Unlocking Hidden Potential A Stage 1 tune is the perfect entry point for enhancing your Surcharge's performance without requiring any hardware modifications. By optimizing the factory ECU parameters, we extract significant additional power: +80 Horsepower – Feel the surge of acceleration from every stoplight +80 lb-ft Torque – Massive mid-range punch for confident overtaking Enhanced throttle response – Sharper, more immediate power delivery Improved fuel efficiency – Optimized air-fuel ratios under normal driving Stage 1 tuning recalibrates boost pressure, ignition timing, and fuel delivery to unlock performance that European left on the table from the factory. Stage 2 Tune: Maximum Performance For enthusiasts seeking the ultimate performance, our Stage 2 tune pushes the boundaries further. This aggressive calibration is designed for vehicles with supporting modifications: +120 Horsepower – Supercar-rivaling acceleration +120 lb-ft Torque – Relentless power throughout the entire rev range Optimized boost curves – Peak performance across all driving conditions Track-ready calibration – Built for spirited driving and track days Stage 2 tuning typically requires upgraded intercooler, downpipes, and intake to support the increased airflow demands. Why Choose ECM Tuner? Our team specializes exclusively in European performance vehicles. Every tune is developed through extensive dyno testing and real-world validation to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and drivability. We don't compromise – we deliver results.
