The rating shows as a color-coded light: yellow means epic, green means good, teal means fair, blue means poor — and red means high surf, stay sharp. No apps to open, no forecasts to decode. Just glance at the wall and know whether it's time to paddle out. Behind the light is a rating engine built and tuned in San Diego, tracking swell direction, height, and period, wind, and tide for your spot — the same things a lifelong surfer checks before deciding to go. The app Setup takes minutes with the free companion app. Pick your surf spot, register your sign, and you're done — from then on it runs on its own. You can change spots or adjust preferences anytime from your phone. Designed and developed in San Diego by artist and surfer Nathan Siefken. It's art with purpose: less scrolling, more surfing.
