165mm x 1200mm surface mount bollard in powdercoated safety yellow. The largest diameter in our surface mount range. Bolts straight down onto existing concrete on a fully welded base plate — no excavation, no core drilling, no waiting on a footing to cure. Why 165mm rather than 140mm Diameter is what carries an impact, not height. The step up from 140mm to 165mm gives you a visibly heavier post for the places where a bollard is genuinely expected to be hit rather than merely seen — forklift aisles, tight dock aprons, gateposts on a truck route. It also reads as a more substantial piece of street furniture at a commercial entrance, which is often the reason architects specify it. Where it's used Loading docks and forklift routes — protects door tracks, frames and dock plates where contact is routine. Commercial and building entrances — substantial enough to define an entry as well as protect it. Gateways and truck access points — marks the edge of a wide vehicle path. Switchboards, gas meters and exposed plant — keeps vehicles off services that are expensive to repair. What you get 165mm OD galvanised steel tube, heavy duty wall Powdercoated safety yellow for outdoor durability and high visibility Fully welded, pre-drilled base plate 1200mm above ground once installed 19kg Fixings are sold separately. Each bollard needs 4 — add a concrete or asphalt pack on this page. Note that the 165mm takes a larger concrete fixing than the 90mm and 140mm bollards, so use the pack shown on this page rather than one bought for a smaller post. Installation Stand the bollard in position and mark the four hole positions through the base plate. Drill to the depth specified on your fixing pack. Blow out the dust, reseat the bollard and insert the four fixings. Tighten evenly. Re-check the fixings after the first few weeks of use. No excavation and no concrete work required. Before you order This is an asset protection and access control bollard. It is not crash rated and is not tested to PAS 68 or IWA 14. For hostile vehicle mitigation, call us on 1300 291 700. The concrete needs to be sound and thick enough to hold a mechanical anchor. On asphalt use the asphalt fixings; on soft ground you'll need a concrete footing first. Check the base plate footprint fits your available surface before ordering, particularly near a slab edge or expansion joint — the 165mm has the largest footprint in the surface mount range. Where a bollard has to resist a determined impact rather than a knock, an inground bollard will always outperform a bolt-down one.
