Ever wanted to run drops on your mountain bike but didn't wanna fork out $800 for a set of GRX integrated shifters? Well now you can! The Surly Corner Bar is the first drop bar to receive mountain clamp components. Your normal drop bar runs a 23.8mm component clamp diameter and then transitions into the stem clamp diameter (usually 25.4mm, 26.0mm, or 31.8mm,) whereas mountain/flat bars run a 22.2mm component clamp area and then transition into the stem clamp area. This is a drop bar with a 22.2 component clamp area. This means that, for the first time, you can swap over to drops on your mountain bike (or other flat-bar bike,) and keep running your flat bar levers and shifters! The bar end area also accepts a bar con shifter if you have any of those lyin' around. This is honestly, pretty groundbreaking and we're happy to stock these avant-garde bars here at the Outpost!
