In a forest, nothing grows alone. The trees lean into one another, roots intertwined, sharing what they have, giving what is needed. No grasping. Just the quiet surrender of each t o the whole, and to something larger than themselves. This piece began the way my best work does, by letting go of what I thought it should be. Vintage sheet music, painted paper, and gold layered over deep indigo blue, with alstroemeria blooms woven quietly throughout. The music is not accidental. It is a hymn I have known my whole life.
