Sustainable scrubs are made from organic cotton printed with biodegradable inks toreduce their ecological impact. The fabric uses less water and produces far less wastethan regular cotton other dying processes.Why organic cotton?To put it simply, organic cotton is a more sustainable solution. It is grown withoutpesticides from seeds that have not been genetically modified.Organic farming practices avoid using harmful chemicals while aiming for environmentalsustainability and the use of fewer resources. Chemical-free agricultural land even staysfertile much longer than land hampered by the constant use of pesticides, so organiccotton farmers generally have a longer cotton commodity lifespan than otherwise.Organic cotton requires up to 90% less water and produces fewer CO2 emissions thanstandard cotton fabric. For organic cotton fabric to be classified as such, all pesticides,fertilisers and herbicides used in its production must also be organically certified.What are “eco inks"?All my sustainable scrubs are printed with high end, biodegradable “eco inks”. The digitaltextile printers I utilise uses an extremely sustainable process without using or producingany waste water, effluent or large amounts of energy.Water consumption during the printing process is less than 2% of what is required forscreen printing. All inks are water based, biodegradable and Oeko Tex certified.
