Artist Statement:Growing up in rural Ohio, I came to understand how fragile and vital our connections are to one another and to the world around us. Today, that sense of belonging feels increasingly strained, as self-governing algorithms and corporate systems promise connection while deepening our isolation. Swarm reflects on this tension: a culture engineered for attention and speed, leaving us detached from the physical and emotional spaces that once grounded us. It is both a critique and a confession, an acknowledgment of my own participation in this disintegration, and a longing for the renewal of the ties that make us human.
