From a single estate vineyard in Paardeberg, this 100% Cinsault comes from vineys planted on decomposed granite in 1954. It is hand-harvested with careful selection, whole bunch fe rmented using only native yeasts before a one-year aging process. Owned by cousins Hein and Adi Badenhorst, who began their winemaking journey restoring the cellar on a the Swartland farm that was last used in the 1930’s to make natural wines in the "old manner," with every aspect of the care of the vineyard being done either by hand or horse plow. Concentrated aromas of red cherry and raspberry, flinty earthiness, and spices, leading to a savory finish.
