When protecting high-value assets, sensitive documents, firearms, cash, or business records, compromise is not an option. The Steelwater SWBFB-685 Fire & Burglary Safe is engineered for homeowners and small businesses that demand commercial-level fire resistance, burglary protection, and mechanical reliability in a compact yet powerful safe. Built with Steelwater’s proven fire-and-burglary architecture, this model delivers 2 hours of fire protection at 1850°F, reinforced steel construction, and a Group II mechanical combination lock trusted by professionals for decades. Whether you’re safeguarding irreplaceable records, inventory, or valuables, the SWBFB-685 delivers long-term security you can depend on. Serious Fire Protection You Can Trust Fire is one of the most destructive threats to valuables and records. The SWBFB-685 is fire rated for two full hours at 1850°F (1010°C), making it ideal for protecting paper documents, contracts, passports, cash, and digital media during prolonged fire exposure. Its advanced fire insulation and heat-activated door seal work together to block smoke, heat, and water intrusion—critical for post-fire recovery. This level of fire resistance is well beyond entry-level safes and positions the SWBFB-685 as a reliable solution for both residential and commercial environments. Built to Stop Burglary Attempts The SWBFB-685 doesn’t rely on thin steel or cosmetic deterrents. It’s engineered with three 1¼″ chrome-plated active locking bolts that engage securely into the frame when the door is closed. On the hinge side, a full-length interlocking channel eliminates pry points, protecting the safe even if external hinges are attacked. A glass re-locker system automatically locks the safe down if drilling or forced entry is attempted, while the bolt detent system ensures locking bolts engage properly every time the door closes. These features combine to create a layered defense against prying, drilling, and brute-force attacks. Time-Tested Mechanical Security At the heart of the SWBFB-685 is a Group II mechanical combination dial with vision guard—a preferred locking system for users who value long-term reliability, EMP resistance, and simplicity. Mechanical locks require no batteries, no electronics, and no software updates, making them ideal for mission-critical storage. This lock is especially well-suited for businesses, compliance environments, or users who prefer a traditional, fail-safe approach to security. Smart Interior Design & Accessibility Inside, the SWBFB-685 offers 2.37 cubic feet of storage, making it ideal for documents, cash drawers, handguns, inventory, or sensitive items. Two adjustable, removable shelves allow you to customize the interior layout to suit your needs. The 3-spoke chrome-plated handle provides smooth, controlled operation, while heavy-duty external hinges allow the door to swing more than 180°, giving you full access to the interior—especially important in tight office or closet installations. Secure Installation for Maximum Protection For added security, the SWBFB-685 includes a pre-drilled ½″ anchor hole, allowing the safe to be securely bolted down. Anchoring prevents removal during theft attempts and may help meet insurance and compliance requirements for businesses and professional environments.
