The Dalahästen has existed since the 17th century and is the most common symbol of Sweden and Swedish commoner culture. Kurbit painting emerged in Dalarna at the end of the 18th century and was common on both furniture and walls. Wool feels good from frequent airing, preferably in damp weather. The blankets can be washed with wool detergent by hand or on a wool program in a machine at 30 degrees. Wring the blanket semi-dry or spin briefly, stretch the blanket and then air dry it.
