Every once in a while, I find myself buying more art supplies than I need, a habit that I’m sure most artists and crafters can understand. When that happens, I put myself on a “no-spending” plan and force myself to use the things I already have, which amounts to more than I’ll ever use up. I recently wanted to make cards for a couple of friends who have been going through a rough patch, and I turned to Tim Holtz Idea-ology Collage Strips, which have been some of my favorite paper products for a while now. They can be used in so many ways. For these cards, I decided to first make a Masterboard of sorts, and adhered three of the strips to a piece of cardstock using gel medium. Then, I tore small pieces of vintage paper and adhered them randomly on top of the collage strips. When everything was dry, I cut everything into strips. To create the cards, I cut kraft cardstock in to the desired size and adhered a piece of white cardstock to the front of each one. I then played around with the paper strips, and when happy with the arrangement, I glued them in place with gel medium. To finish, I cut uplifting messages from the Dina Wakley Typed Ledgers and glued one to each card. Featured Products Include: Tim Holtz Idea-ology Collage Strips Large
