Starlight or Hydrangea paniculata 'Pan1782hydr' is another full sun hydrangea that has bright white flower bloom every year and age beautifully from light to dark antique pink. Strong stems keep the gorgeous blooms from flopping open and the compact size will fit easily under windows for classically beautiful landscaping. Care Sweet Starlight Hydrangea will grow best in full sun or a fair amount of sun even if in late afternoon shade. Loves moist, well drained soil and requires consistent watering. Best grown in zones 4-8. Growth Habit Mounded; deciduous. Height & width at maturity is between 3' - 4' both tall and wide. Starlight is a low-maintenance plant that blooms on new wood, needing minimal pruning (late winter/early spring) beyond removing spent flowers, and benefits from spring fertilizer and mulch for moisture retention. Toxicity Dogs or cats that consume enough hydrangea leaves, flowers and/or buds can suffer from vomiting and diarrhea.
