The BAU4611L is a fuel cut-off solenoid switch used on Land Rover Defender models equipped with 2.5-litre diesel engines. Its function is to interrupt fuel delivery to the injection pump when the ignition is switched off, preventing diesel run-on and enabling a clean engine shutdown. A faulty or stuck solenoid can result in the engine failing to start, refusing to shut off, or cutting out unexpectedly under load. Key Features Direct-replacement solenoid switch designed to fit the fuel injection pump on 2.5 NA and 2.5 Turbo Diesel engines Restores correct fuel shut-off function, eliminating diesel run-on or no-start conditions caused by solenoid failure Supplied to OEM specification with part number BAU4611L for accurate fitment verification When replacing this solenoid, inspect the wiring connector and sealing washer, as corrosion at the connector is a common cause of intermittent faults Vehicle Fitment Fits Land Rover Defender (1986–2006) with 2.5-litre Naturally Aspirated Diesel and 2.5-litre Turbo Diesel engines.
