[short] Automotive Wire SXL Applications: Automotive wire is among the wide range of electrical cables used as power cables in the automotive industry, for motor leads, and as fire alarm cable. This SXL cable is relatively robust and can withstand high heat and high impact environments. The operational temperature for this electrical cable is 125°C. Also Known As: Sxl cable, sxl wire, sxl automotive wire, sxl wire specs, automotive wire, automotive cable, primary cable, car wiring, auto wire, auto cable, automotive electrical wiring, car electrical wiring, vehicle wiring, auto electrical wire, automotive primary wire. Standards: The SXL automotive wire has the following certifications from international agencies: • Ford ESB-M1L85-A • ESB-M1L86-A • Chrysler MS-5919 Construction Conductors: The SXL wire has a tinned or bare copper wire conductor. Copper is the most common material used in electrical wires and cables, which is mostly because it has amazing electrical properties and is cheaper compared to other metals. The stranding enhances its flexibility and enables it to carry more current. Insulation: The SXL cable has XLPE insulation, which is flexible but very tough, made of a complex chain of molecules forming a sturdy polymer. It can withstand a wide range of temperatures, is resistant to chemicals and UV light deformations, water-tight, and easy to cut. [/short] Automotive Wire SXL There is a high demand of tough cables in the automotive industry to come up with efficient and powerful motor vehicles. In the current developing most motor vehicles are used to make work easier, this is where the SXL automotive cable comes in handy. It is very tough and accurate in transmitting current. It is available in various sizes specifically from 8 AWG to 20 AWG. It also has a voltage rating of up to 60 volts and an alternating current of 25 volts. The cable can survive in temperatures as low as -400C and 1250C in extremely hot environments. Conductor The conductor is made ofstranded bare copper. Bare copper is highly durable which in turn saves you money from constant repair and maintenance. Surprisingly copper is cheaper compared to other metals such as silver but still delivers large amounts of current hence you don’t have to dig deep into your pockets to get a roll. It is also flexible hence wire breakage is minimal in constricted areas. Insulation The insulation is made from color-coded cross linked polyethylene. Polyethylene is resistant to oil, corrosion, chemicals, acids, radiation, sunlight, flames and industrial solvents. The color code ensures easy identification of the cable depending on the size. Industrial ratings and approvals This cable has been tested and approved by the following international standards and agencies; • SAE J-1128• Ford ESB-M1L123A• Chrysler MS-5919 Applications It can be used in various industrial applications as long as it does not exceed 60 volts. However it’s most common applications is in motor vehicles.
