The spectator thinks of any number and jumps from value to value on the card in any direction he likes, remembering the value he ends up with (say) the King. You remove another card from your pocket with the four suits on it. He repeats the procedure of counting and remembers the suit he ends on (say) Hearts. This would make his selection the King of Hearts.
