The Lilith series was captured in the last couple months of a long, quiet, and very cold winter on Nantucket. In the relative calm and stillness of this time, whispers of creative inspiration became audible. What called to me during this period of semi-solitude was a vision that emphasized the connection between women and nature, and celebrated the power and freedom of a solitary moment in a safe place that embodies peace and beauty. This series is the most personal work I have created to date, and has cracked me open a bit as an artist. This project also includes my first venture into film photography, and “Synergy” was one of my first attempts at creating a double exposure. The title also represents my feelings about collaborating with model Leah Olivo, pictured here and in all images in the Lilith series. Leah and I have so much in common on a personal level, and working together came so naturally. Leah brought out the best in me as a photographer, and contributed so many wonderful ideas to this project. This collaboration was unquestionably meant to be.
