This highly reliable, classic Lilac produces large, elegant trusses of highly fragrant, fully double flowers that are a pristine, soft lilac-blue with a contrasting pale white centre. The shrub has an upright, spreading habit and provides a lush, dense canopy of heart-shaped leaves that act as an excellent background for later-blooming plants. To ensure the best performance, plant in a sunny spot with well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil. Cut away any weak or spindly growth and immediately remove the spent lilac-blue flower heads after the blooming period ends to ensure the plant focuses its energy on generating a spectacular display for the following year.
