Declaration Lilac is a compact deciduous shrub with a denser upright habit and rounded crown. Its medium green foliage yellow to gold tones in fall. Long panicles of deep red-purple buds open to highly fragrant flowers the same shade that soften to light purple with age and bloom heavily from early to mid spring.
