The System Sensor 2151 is a professional-grade, low-profile photoelectric smoke detector designed for precise performance in commercial HVAC and fire alarm systems. This 100 Series plug-in head utilizes a state-of-the-art optical sensing chamber and is engineered to provide stable detection in diverse environments. Technicians should note that this unit is the direct replacement for 2151+ and the 70-540000-001 models, ensuring seamless integration during retrofits. It is compatible with B100 or B400 Series adapter bases, offering flexibility for various wiring requirements. The photoelectric sensor technology is optimized to detect smoldering fires while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio to minimize nuisance alarms. With its sleek design and field-proven reliability, the System Sensor 2151 smoke detector remains a standard choice for contractors looking for plug-in smoke detector reliability in critical life safety applications. Please verify voltage and base compatibility prior to installation to ensure proper smoke detection system operation. Key Benefits Broad Compatibility: Functions seamlessly with B401, B401B, and B110LP bases for versatile field installations. Sensing Precision: Advanced photoelectric chamber provides superior detection of large-particle smoke common in smoldering fires. Maintenance Efficiency: Features a removable cover and insect screen for easy cleaning and field serviceability. Status Monitoring: Dual LEDs provide 360-degree visibility, indicating power-on and alarm conditions for fast troubleshooting. System Integration: Designed to meet stringent UL 268 standards for open area protection. Common Questions Is the mounting base included with the 2151 head? No, this is the detector head only. You must obtain a compatible B100 or B400 series base separately for a complete installation. Can I use the 2151 to replace an older 2151+ model? Yes, the 2151 is the direct functional replacement for the 2151+ and the 70-540000-001, fitting into existing compatible bases. How do I test the sensitivity of this detector in the field? Field sensitivity testing can be performed using a calibrated aerosol smoke tester or the internal reed switch with a magnet to verify circuit activation.
