System Sensor RRS-MOD — reversing relay and synchronization module for i3 Series smoke detectors equipped with a built-in sounder. An i3 detector with a sounder only makes noise where the smoke is, which does not help in an adjacent unit. The RRS-MOD reverses polarity on the initiating circuit so that when one i3 sounder alarms, every i3 sounder on the loop sounds, synchronized into one clean pattern. A field-selectable switch picks coded mode, which mirrors the panel signal, or continuous mode, which follows the ANSI S3.41 temporal pattern. 12/24 V nominal; 8.5 V min, 35 V max; average current 25 mA Relay contact rating 2 A @ 35 VDC 2-wire and 4-wire i3 detectors; bell/alarm, alarm relay, or NAC outputs 2.5" × 2.5" × 1" (63 × 63 × 25 mm) 18 AWG stranded tinned leads, 16" long, quick-connect harness 32°F to 131°F (0°C to 55°C); 5% to 85% RH Despite the name, this is a sounder module for i3 detectors — not a general-purpose NAC sync module. It will not synchronize horns or strobes.
