Vintage: 2024 Origin: Hajós-Baja, Hungary Grapes: Welschriesling, Rhine Riesling, Hárslevelű, Cserszegi Fűszeres Alcohol: 13.5% This experimental village blend sits right between a bright, full-bodied white and a textured skin-contact wine. Sourced from sandy clay soils, the grapes were picked over eight separate harvest passes to get the perfect balance of freshness. Some bunches were directly pressed while the later ones were crushed by foot, with the wine eventually aged in a mix of Hungarian oak, ceramic amphorae, and steel tanks. The result is a generous pour bursting with flavours of ripe peach, white blossoms, and a hint of honey. It has a distinct flinty mineral backbone and a lively energy, enhanced by a tiny, refreshing prickle of natural carbon dioxide. Bottled unfiltered on its lees with minimal sulphur, it is a fun and unique bottle.
