Give your Volvo T5 the cooling capacity it needs for harder road use and tuned power levels with the AIRTEC Motorsport Front Mount Intercooler Upgrade. Developed specifically for t he Volvo P1-platform C30 T5, S40 T5 and V50 T5, this uprated intercooler uses a substantial 90mm high-flow core and smooth-flow end tanks to dramatically improve charge-air cooling compared with the restrictive factory intercooler. Reducing intake temperatures is particularly important on the turbocharged Volvo 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine. As boost and engine load increase, so does charge-air temperature. A more efficient intercooler helps control heat soak and provides the engine with a cooler, denser intake charge – making this an excellent supporting upgrade for remapped cars, upgraded turbo setups and enthusiast-driven T5s. AIRTEC designed the intercooler to mount to the lower radiator cradle, rather than loading additional weight directly onto the standard radiator mounts. The kit retains straightforward installation while providing a significantly larger cooling solution, and is supplied with the required mounting brackets, fixtures and fittings. The performance difference is backed up by AIRTEC's own testing. The standard C30 intercooler produced outlet temperatures of 57°C and 59°C, while the AIRTEC intercooler recorded outlet temperatures between 20°C and 24°C across three test runs under AIRTEC's stated test conditions. With a 325mm × 165mm × 90mm core and approximately 4.8-litre capacity, this is a serious cooling upgrade for standard and modified Volvo T5s where consistent charge temperatures matter. For customers planning further performance upgrades, the AIRTEC intercooler also makes an ideal foundation alongside a performance induction kit, freer-flowing exhaust, ECU remap and upgraded boost pipework. Key Features / Selling Points Huge 90mm intercooler core – substantially increased cooling capacity for the turbocharged Volvo T5 Proven reduction in outlet temperatures – AIRTEC testing recorded 20–24°C compared with 57–59°C from the standard intercooler 4.8-litre core capacity – provides increased charge-air cooling volume High-flow end tank design – engineered to promote efficient airflow through the intercooler Helps control heat soak – particularly beneficial during repeated acceleration and higher boost operation Ideal for tuned Volvo T5s – an excellent supporting modification for remapped and higher-output builds Lower radiator cradle mounting – designed to avoid placing excessive additional weight on the original radiator mounts Complete fitting hardware included – supplied with brackets, fixtures and fittings required for installation Pro-Series satin black finish – stealthy appearance behind the front bumper AIRTEC-developed upgrade – purpose designed for Volvo P1 T5 applications Vehicle Fitment Volvo P1 Platform – 2.5-Litre Turbocharged 5-Cylinder T5 Volvo C30 T5 – approximately 2006–2013 Volvo S40 T5 – approximately 2004–2012 Volvo V50 T5 – approximately 2004–2012 Volvo C70 T5 – approximately 2004–2012 Volvo V40 T5 - 5 Cylinder only (may require some modification) Intercooler Core Dimensions: Width: 325mm Height: 165mm Depth: 90mm Capacity: 4.8 litres Show more
