Item Name: Trautman Art Glass Elvis Red Blizzard Rod SKU: TAG033R1-015-TAG-015 Description: TAG Elvis Red Blizzard Rod is a color glass rod made for lampworking in borosilicate glass. It is manufactured as a solid rod that you heat in a torch flame and use as your color source for building, wrapping, and layering decoration onto clear or colored borosilicate bases. Elvis Red Blizzard is used when you want a bold red color with a blizzard style effect that reads with extra visual texture and movement in the finished work. It is commonly chosen for beads, small sculpture, accents, and surface decoration where strong color presence is the goal. How it is used: Heat the tip of the rod in a neutral flame until it begins to glow and move smoothly Apply the molten glass to a warmed base piece by wrapping, dotting, striping, or encasing Use controlled heat to keep the color stable while shaping, especially during longer working cycles Pull stringer from the rod for fine line work, filigree, and detailed patterning Anneal the finished piece on a proper borosilicate schedule to reduce stress and prevent cracking
