ABOUT THE DESIGNER Born in Cremona in 1960, Ferruccio Laviani studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano before bursting onto the design scene in the 1980s with the radical Memphis group. He has since created some of Italian design's most iconic pieces, including the FL/Y pendant and Bourgie table lamp, both for Kartell.
