Tallow on its own doesn't lather very well, so I add Australian olive oil to bring more creaminess and bubbles to the bar. It's also rich in oleic acid, which conditions and softens the skin. Does it smell like beef?Not even a little bit. The tallow is properly refined, so there’s no animal smell at all. What you’ll notice is sweet orange, cedarwood and a bright citrusy lift from litsea cubeba. It smells like sunshine and warm wood — nothing else. Why tallow?
