The Talon Tach is an innovative multipurpose reflective sensor designed for seamless integration with the Talon SRX motor speed controller. This device functions as both a contactless limit switch and a tachometer, providing versatile feedback for your control systems. Utilizing an onboard infrared emitter/sensor, the Talon Tach optically detects reflective surfaces, and its integrated filtering hardware produces crisp, repeatable square-wave outputs for precise measurement. With dual 10-pin headers, it easily interfaces with the Talon SRX, allowing for convenient daisy-chaining with other devices like the SRX Mag Encoder. Solder pad mode selectors enable easy configuration for operation as a forward/reverse limit switch or a tachometer. Additionally, a 3-pin header provides a generic output. Ideal for FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) robots, industrial automation, custom machinery, and robotics projects requiring non-contact position sensing, speed measurement, or precise limit detection.
