The inventor is Mr. Tang. After reading Timur's post about Loki Star on the forum, the inspiration for this puzzle suddenly came to my mind. Apate Star has three rotation axes, one allows you turn one of the faces while two others allow turns around 2 corners. Unlike Loki Star, the orientations of its three axes are different. The two corner-turning axes are closer to the face-turning axes compared to those of Loki Star. Without stickers, this puzzle looks almost the same as Starminx when viewed from a specific direction. The same as Timur, disguised it as a Starminx with stickers.
